Ralgreen are proud to support Mires Beck Nursery as our Charity of the Year 2019
We are pleased to announce that our chosen charity of the year is local charity Mires Beck Nursery in North Cave.
Mires Beck Nursery is a registered charity which provides opportunities for people who have learning and physical disabilities to be involved in a working horticultural nursery. The trainees are taught skills to improve their self confidence and connect with a wide range of customers and the general public who visit the 14-acre site, just to the south of the village of North Cave in the East Riding of Yorkshire. The nursery produces a large stock of perennials and herbs, wildflowers and trees for conservation projects, with an aim of creating a place where people can enjoy the therapeutic benefits of horticulture and gardening.
Each week over 90 people are involved in a wide range of activities, tasks and jobs including sowing seeds, potting on, taking cuttings, planting trees, establishing hedges, developing flower borders and much more and they currently have over 550 members supporting the charity’s development and aims.
As an eco-conscious architectural practice we fully support the conservation work the charity is delivering and we are keen to help them promote the facilities, crafts and raise awareness of the positive horticultural work they do together with the support they offer to our local community.
We are looking to provide Mires Beck with architectural support as part of the overall site development and future plans. Our team are also keen to get involved in volunteering opportunities. Each member of the Ralgreen team has pledged their time to support the future projects at this fantastic facility.
